Amis d.o.o. was established in 1995 as the first non-government specialised provider of Internet service in Slovenia. In 1997 it established the Amis network with the aim to expand and provide Internet services across the entire Slovenian market. Amis thus became an increasingly established brand, and even today it is the driving force of the Slovenian market services and products. Their chief competitive advantages are high responsiveness to changes in the environment, implementation of leading-edge technologies, investments in staff development and improvement, orientation towards meeting the users’ individual needs, quality execution of complex projects, as well as user assistance. Amis owns three international Internet links, fully independent from one another. Offering Internet call services, Amis is the largest alternative international telephony operator in Slovenia, with the most powerful international link, and Slovenia’s most powerful backbone network. From the technical point of view, they are the only Internet provider with its own international optical Internet link. They are also the only provider that uses two physically fully independent international links. In the international telephony sector, as a company that has established a cross-network link with the national telecommunications company, they have an 85% market share among alternative telephony providers. In 2003 Amis was named 8th fastest-growing technology company in Central Europe (Deloitte & Touche).

Our telecommunications services cover the complete Slovenian and Croatian markets and keep looking for opportunities in neighbouring countries. Our goal is to become one of the leading telecommunications services providers in Slovenia and other countries of the former Yugoslavia. Today Amis and our range of international telephony services present the largest alternative international telephony operator in Slovenia and in Croatia. In both countries, our market share amongst the alternative telecommunications providers is approximately 85%.
Game hosting services at Amis were established for the first time in 1998, with the deployment of the game Half Life. Until today Amis hosted a broad range of world-wide popular games such as Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, Moha, Call of duty, Call of duty UO, Call of duty 2, Wolfenstein, MOHA pacific assault, Unreal tournament, or Quake. Amis’s vision for online gaming is to include these components inside the triple-play service, as a component of IP-TV service. In seven years Amis established a group of 20.000 online game players that will be also included in testing and validation activities.

In addition, Amis has an entire department of Web application design that worked in the past in various tasks from small Web pages to larger projects such are dynamic Web portals, online shops, or billing applications.
Amis also carries establishment, maintenance and support of VPNs, which are private communication networks usually used within a company, or by several different companies or organizations, to communicate over a public network. VPN message traffic is carried on public networking infrastructure (e.g. the Internet) using standard protocols, or over a service provider's network providing VPN service guarded by a well-defined SLA between the VPN customer and the VPN service provider.Amis also offers quality-streaming services based on Helix Producer software that is used by many radio and television stations.
